Ultimate Blog Party

If you are linking over from The Ultimate Blog Party at 5 Minutes for Moms, welcome to Life as a Mother...of Many!  I am so glad that you have stopped by.  This is my first time to join in the party...can't wait to check out all of the other blogs out there.

A little about me.  Well...I am a thirty-something Christian, Texas native (must put that in...love my roots), with six precious little blessings.  I was homeschooled in the 80's back when nobody...and I mean nobody was doing that and few people had heard of it.  I went on to earned a BS in Elementary Education, married the love of my life, Peter, followed him to Virginia and supported him through law school...by teaching...so those were amazingly tight but fabulous days.  Then, we moved to Arizona where we have lived for a decade now.  I love my family, photography, History, and politics.  Yes, I know...a nerd by any definition...haha.  You can read more about me in the "about me" tab at the top of my blog.

I started blogging last October with the desire to build this blog into a reference for moms...especially Christian homeschool moms...on all things mom related.  I blog about my daily life as a wife and homeschooling mother of six amazing kids, how I manage daily life, cultivate character in my kids (and myself!), educate six little ones on differing levels, involve our family in local politics, enjoy the beauty of the Arizona desert, strive to live a natural, healthy lifestyle, and photograph it all.

So, if these topics appeal to you, or you are just curious why anyone would have six kids and what it is like...haha...then come and stay for a while:)

Here are a few of my favorite and most popular posts since I began posting in October.

Mommy, Find My Heart
Gaining and keeping the hearts of our children.

Getting to the BOTTOM of it
How-to on making cloth diapers.

From Fresh to Frozen
How-to on making homemade baby food.

Goodbye "Not Me"
Organizing with many children.

I also have a few ongoing series. Here are my favorite ones.

 Learning Through the Elections
This is a series on how we are taking advantage of this election year to educate and involve our kids in the political proces.

Fantastic Friday
This is a series on field trips and hands-on learning that we do on Fridays...making every Friday a "Fantastic Friday".

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog.  I hope you have been blessed by the topics and come back often to share mommy ideas.

See you soon!

  1. Welcome to the world of blogging. Our girls are grown now, but we loved homeschooling in the 80's.

I am hopping over from UBP. Happy party week.

    1. Hi Tesha, great to meet you here at the UBP! I am so sorry for your loss and grieve with you. I have had three miscarriages over the years at different stages. Most recently, we said goodbye to one of our little ones just last month. I am happy to have found you here too and share in your journey!

And, I guess we both stay up late too:)

  8. I hopped over from UBP and now I'm wondering how many people we might both possibly know.

I'm also from Texas and was home schooled back in the 80's. I'm a 30 something mom to three-so-far and we're beginning our home school journey this fall. (My husband was also home schooled growing up.)

So getting a kick out of you lovin' your Texas roots. My brother and his family still live in TX and they LOVE it. I moved to Oregon and love it here.

Wonderful, wonderful meeting you! Definitely sticking you in my Google reader.

    1. Thanks! If you decide to homeschool, you will love it. But, I am a little biased:) Do they have a summer homeschool convention in your area? I would highly suggest going. Ours is one of the highlights of my year...every year. Blessings.
